Frequently Asked Questions

Why is pet grooming important?

Regular pet grooming offers numerous benefits, including early detection of health issues, maintaining a healthy coat and fur, preventing joint pain, promoting positive behavior, and improving overall well-being. Trust our professional groomers at our on-site Sandy Paws Pet Spa in Riverhead and Westhampton Beach for exceptional grooming services that prioritize your pet's health and happiness.

How often should my pet be groomed?

When it comes to pampering your beloved pet, there's no cookie-cutter approach to grooming. The optimal frequency of grooming sessions varies depending on your pet's unique breed and coat characteristics. If your furry friend has luscious, flowing locks, they may require more frequent attention. At Sandy Paws Pet Spa, our expert groomers suggest a professional grooming session every six to eight weeks for most pets. However, we understand that each pet is different, and factors such as activity level and coat condition play a role in determining the ideal grooming schedule. With our certified groomers' expertise, we can work with you to develop a personalized grooming plan tailored specifically to your pet's individual needs.

What if my pet gets anxiety during grooming visits?

At Sandy Paws Pet Spa, we prioritize your pet's comfort with gentle handling, a calming environment, and customized grooming techniques. We communicate openly, exercise patience, and show compassion to address pet anxiety and ensure a stress-free experience.

Should I bathe my pet between salon visits?

The optimal bathing routine for your pet depends on how frequently you bring them to our salon. If you're a regular visitor, with appointments every month or every other month, regular brushing may be sufficient, unless your pet gets particularly dirty. However, if you extend the time between salon visits, our certified groomers may recommend home bathing, taking into account your pet's breed and unique requirements. We can provide expert guidance on the best bathing routine to keep your pet's coat clean and healthy in between salon appointments.
